    1st step

This blog will show the path of creating a basic GIS analysis - execute simple spatial quantitative analysis on a scale of a chosen city. It will allow to understand elementary methods and potential outcomes of using Geographic Information System. Available tools allow us to find a lot of interesting information that is useful in managing the city.

Two tasks will occupy this story:
    1. Public communication according to distribution of workplaces in the city,
    2. Spatial description of municipal solid waste transport
both analysis will be executed on the case of Wroclaw.

First step is to collect any useful spatial data (maps, statistics, files etc.)

I wrote a request to dr Brzuchowska of Municipal Spatial Information Office, Municipal Solid waste companies (Transformers, WPO ALBA), Municipal Communication Enterprise (MPK), and some guys of BRAMA (WUoT- they deal with topics of use of public data), Centrum Cyfrowe, and City-nav- guys from jakdojade.pl.

    Hopefully they will answer.

    Let us be patient.

I wouldn't agree as learning to write a good story took me some time. And still to write really good story which would attract the readers enough to make them repeat it (or at least show sb else) does not come easily. The objective of this task is not to learn how to get data but how to tell a story in an interesting way. The story should be related with geoinformation. I am not sure whether the story on gaining the data is interesting enough.. Especially taking into account that: http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/services/techwatch/reports/horizonscanning/hs1001.aspx
